Reviews and Ratings
The hotel had lovely rooms with fantastic views, but it was slightly down-market. The service was welcoming and efficient, although there was an unnerving experience with the driver. The location was beautiful and perfect for relaxation. The dining experience was generally lovely, though a service charge on all meals was a downside.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The room was rather old-fashioned and a bit dingy, but the view from the back of the hotel was grand and offered a pleasant outlook over the gardens and the Thames Valley hills. The service was spectacular, with staff going above and beyond to help us despite some unnerving moments driving back late at night. The location was amazing, with world-class surroundings to explore, but the presence of wasps prevented full enjoyment of the terrace outside the spa. The dining experience was a letdown, with traditional and disappointing options, although the facilities were generally good.
My stay at the hotel was truly wonderful. The rooms were beautifully refurbished and had an imposing fireplace, although they were a bit noisy at times due to weddings. The spacious room with a four-poster bed and magnificent views was an absolute delight. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The service was exceptional, with accommodating staff who even allowed us to take wedding photos in the garden. However, there was a delay in sorting out an overcharge issue on my account. The location was amazing, with well-kept grounds and ample parking, though some areas needed maintenance like salting during frost. The dining experience was somewhat traditional and disappointing with poor quality, not justifying the high charge. Facilities were nice, but improvements could be made.
